Festa della Salute November 21
Basilica della Salute
The celebration commemorates the time when Venice overcame a terrible plague in 1630/31. Tradition has it that one walks across the votive bridge that spans the Grand Canal, lights a candle inside the Basilica della Salute, and, in a blend of the sacred and the profane, makes their way through the many culinary stalls.
