A unique and unforgettable experience: visiting the Lido on horseback
The tradition of horse and carriage rides along the beach of Venice Lido has its roots in the 20th century, the island’s golden age.
Today the Lido Equestrian Club is engaged in work to enhance the island by offering a new way to visit it in winter with its horse rides, recalling an elegant past, with a sustainable “vehicle” that’s sure to suit the whole family.
The Lido has always enjoyed a privileged relationship with horses: it was here in 1960 that CONI (the Italian National Olympic Committee) inaugurated the Equestrian Club and the World Riding Championships were held, while in more recent years the Lido Racecourse has aroused the interest of the Sheikh of Dubai.
The Lido’s love of horse riding therefore has a long history, still evidenced today by the work of the Ca’ Bianca Racecourse. Not just a sports club but also a home for animals, it stayed open even during the critical months of the 2020 lockdown to ensure that its guests didn’t lack the necessary care.
Horse riding takes place from October to April. For more information and to book this experience you can contact the Equestrian Club of Venice through their Facebook page.
