The Venice Glass Week – #AWorldOfGlass
The Venice Glass Week 2024: an immersion in the art of glassmaking
From September 14 to 22, Venice, Murano, and Mestre will host the eighth edition of The Venice Glass Week, the international festival established in 2017 to celebrate and promote the ancient glassmaking tradition of the lagoon. This event, now recognized globally, has become a reference point for artists, craftsmen, and glass enthusiasts from all over the world.
This year’s theme, #AWorldOfGlass, highlights the international nature of the festival and its ability to attract participants from 45 countries. An edition that promises to be extraordinary, with over 300 applications received, the highest number ever recorded in the history of the event, testifying to the vibrancy and growing interest in glass art.
The graphics for this edition are inspired by the murrina, one of the oldest and most distinctive techniques of glassworking, characterized by vivid colors and complex patterns. The murrina represents the essence of creativity and craftsmanship that has distinguished Venice as a world center of glass art for centuries.
The Venice Glass Week 2024 will offer a rich program of events, exhibitions, and meetings, all dedicated to the discovery and celebration of artistic glass. Don’t miss the opportunity to immerse yourself in a unique experience that combines tradition and innovation, helping to keep alive one of the most ancient and fascinating arts of our culture.
