THE VENICE LIDO CAN BOAST OF HAVING ESTABLISHED THE OLDEST “TARGET SHOOTING” OR SHOOTING RANGE IN ITALY AND THE WORLD.
In fact, the “BRESSAGLIO” in San Nicolò del Lido di Venezia, a few steps away from the current National Shooting Range of the Venice section, was built back in 1299 under the Dogado of Pietro Gradenigo.
The Tiro a Segno Nazionale Sezione di Venezia 1867 has always produced important sporting achievements. Among the most recent are those of shooter Cristiano Gritti, who is still the Italian champion in the Sporting Rapid Shooting speciality.
The range has 6 indoor compressed air shooting lines with electronic targets, 10 outdoor compressed air shooting lines with paper targets, 12 22-calibre shooting lines at 50 m, and 7 shooting lines at 25 m (first-category facility).
Finally, the Tiro a Segno Lido shooting range was awarded CONI honours, such as the silver star for CONI sporting merit in 1968.
