78th edition of the Venice International Film Festival
The Lido of Venice comes back to life with stories of cinema and the presence of actors and actresses on the red carpet catwalk.
From 1 to 11 September 2021 the Venice Film Festival is ready to offer, to film lovers, new films in absolute preview. Now in its 78th edition, it will be directed by Alberto Barbera and organized by the Biennale, chaired by Roberto Cicutto.
There are a total of twenty-one films in the Venice 78 section (Competition), nineteen films in the Out of Competition section (in which we also find ten documentaries), three in the Special Screenings section, nineteen in the Horizons section, eight in the Extra Horizons section and six titles in the section Biennale College – Cinema.
The inauguration of the Venice Film Festival 2021 will take place on Wednesday, September 1st and will see the director Pedro Almodovar present with the film “Madre Paralelas”. On September 2, instead, will be presented the new film by Jane Campion entitled “The power of dog” and the awaited film by Paolo Sorrentino, “It was the hand of God”.
In the following days the program will continue with films to follow, next to the most known and expected names we will find discoveries and new bets of young authors.
At the end of the event, the Lido will see Adam Driver, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck: the three protagonists of the film out of competition “The last duel”. Among the out of competition film it takes part also the documentary in memory of the composer Ennio Morricone.
