Experience the
Lido of Venice
The Lido of Venice really does have a green soul.
Ten kilometres of beaches, which have been awarded Blue Flag and Green Flag status over the years, its protected oases with pine forests and dune systems that are among the best preserved in the Adriatic, prime territories for migratory birds to stop over, and also its sports associations that promote an active life in contact with nature. This is where the Green Lido project comes from.
THE LIDO OF VENICE HAS:
* These include the Grande Albergo Ausonia Hungaria, Hotel Venezia 2000 and Hotel Villa Mabapa.
THE PROJECT
The Green Lido project is promoted by the Venetian Consortium Venice and its Lido, supported and assisted by Confindustria Venezia and, since July 2016, sponsored by the Ministry for the Environment and Protection of Land and Sea and the Municipality of Venice.
The project was created to stimulate sustainable metropolitan tourism, to enhance the area’s scenic beauty and build an array of artisanal, cultural and food products based on the search for healthy living, self-care, caring for others and the environment, promoting and coordinating sports activities, improving the productivity of Malamocco’s vegetable gardens, and encouraging bicycle and electric mobility. Embracing this project means gradually implementing behaviours consistent with these values.
THE GREEN LIDO CHARTER
On 26 January 2018, the Ministry of the Environment and Protection of Land and Sea, the Veneto Region, the Municipality of Venice, the Venice and its Lido Consortium and Confindustria Venezia and Rovigo signed “The Green Lido Charter – The Lido of Venice for Environmental Sustainability” to promote and improve the sustainable development of the Lido of Venice.
