2nd Venice Open Water – Nuada Longa
AFTER THE SUCCESS OF THE FIRST EDITION, THE SECOND EDITION OF “ Venice Open Water ” IS COMING SOON.
At the First Edition of Venice Open Water in 2021, sport took centre-stage for the reopening of the Lido following the difficult months of Covid. The participation of well over 200 athletes encouraged a second edition, to be held on 12 June 2022 on the beaches of the Lido.
The initiative, promoted by the Local Tourist Board of Lido and Pellestrina and the Venice Triathlon organisation, is also supported by numerous associations including the Lido hoteliers’ consortium, the municipality of Lido Pellestrina and the City of Venice.
“Venice Open Water – Nuada Longa” is an open-water swimming competition dedicated to the memory of Lucia Monti, a swimming champion taken from us by a cruel illness.
The event includes three different competitions:
- NuotaSprint: race of approximately 800 m, starting at 10.30 am.
- NuotaIlMiglio: race of approximately one nautical mile (1852 m), starting at 12.30 pm.
- Nuota3.5k: race of approximately 3500 m, starting at 2.00 pm.
The first two are reserved for athletes registered with the Swimming and Triathlon federations, with the regional CSEN Open title up for grabs. The third race will be non-competitive and open to amateurs.
The setting for the Nuada Longa is the stretch of sea in front of the Consortium establishment, with meeting and departure at Bluemoon Beach on Venice Lido.
For each of the three distances, prizes will be awarded to the male and female winners of the six categories into which the athletes will be divided.
Registration for “2nd Venice Open Water – Nuada Longa” is open from 7 February to 8 June 2022.
