Homo Faber 2024 – The Journey of Life
A journey through artisanal excellence in Venice: Homo Faber 2024
From September 1 to 30, the art of artisanal excellence takes center stage in Venice with the third edition of Homo Faber, an unmissable event organized by the Fondazione Giorgio Cini, in collaboration with the Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte and the Michelangelo Foundation.
This edition offers visitors a unique experience: a journey through the various stages of human life, narrated through the art and craftsmanship of artisans. From childhood to travel, from love stories to dreams, each stage of life is celebrated through extraordinary objects, created by talented master artisans from around the world.
Under the artistic direction of Luca Guadagnino and the installation designed in collaboration with architect Nicolò Rosmarini, the theme “The Journey of Life,” conceived by Hanneli Rupert, Vice President of the Michelangelo Foundation, comes to life in an immersive path that unfolds within the monumental complex of the Fondazione Giorgio Cini on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore. This installation transforms the space into an evocative representation of life, offering visitors the opportunity to explore the beauty of a place of international significance, in harmony with the art of craftsmanship.
Homo Faber 2024 stands out for its spectacular installations, original works, and live demonstrations, which together create an intense and engaging journey. The ten themes that make up “The Journey of Life” are represented through a wide selection of unique objects, the result of excellent craftsmanship, innovative techniques, and creative approaches.
In addition to the exhibition experience, visitors will be able to enjoy tailored services that combine craftsmanship, entertainment, and gastronomy. Moreover, the Homo Faber in Città program offers an opportunity to discover Venice in a new way, with itineraries that pass through the workshops of Venetian artisans, enriching the cultural and artisanal experience of this extraordinary city.
